I still feel confident that I maximized my learning there inside and outside the classroom, for sure! Sprinkled throughout the book are his own personal experiences, real life stories shared from others, questions and answers, and various facts and figures.
I am extremely confident going to college after reading this book. If you’re going to be commuting and your convictions on the topics above are solid, then I would suggest only reading Chapters 2, 7, 8, and 9. While some prosper spiritually, most get derailed, and an alarming number abandon their faith.
We ordered this book and two others from amazon. In a nutshell, Thriving at College is about how college students can launch into responsible, fruitful adulthood for the glory of God against the backdrop of a young adult culture that often values perpetual adolescence and the avoidance of responsibility.

What I loved about this book is that it gently convicts, offers extremely practical advice, and softly redirects. While Thriving at College was full of good information, it wasn’t really what I thought or hoped it would be and not a book that I’ll be sending to my sister to read. The author quotes multiple Bible verses throughout the book illustrating God’s point of view on topics; he also quotes various articles and novels which demonstrate the author’s credibility,research, and the amount of effort he put into this book.
