Definately worth picking up if you ever se I actually stumbled upon these on a car boot sale, bought them for a mere few pounds.
The ending of the last book ties up most of the loose ends, but leaves the characters in such a place that you can’t stop thinking about them. The Bartimaeus Trilogy is hilarious, exciting, emotional, and goes above and beyond what I would expect from a book. Any who like young adult magic stories ie Harry Potter. And, absolutely love the footnote, most funny! The first books sets up the main characters and the setting, but the second two books really develop the characters and the political climate in which they live and the inner turmoil of their society.
This first book is not as strong as the other two but it is still very good.
