Produces fine grain and high sharpness. Provides more emulsion speed shadow detail than most developers for normal and push processing. Images are not particularly contrasty which preserves the maximum amount of detail in both highlights kodzk shadows and can easily be increased in the printing process. I get lower contrast than D76 better for scanningsmooth gradations, good shadow and highlights. It can be a bit difficult to mix at first but it is worth the effort.

It also has a great shelf life. Gives kodsk great tonal range if you got the exposure right. I really am pleased with the results – good tone separation, fine grain, high accutance and it doesn’t stain I have to use the bathroom for developing and appreciate this quality.
