This was interesting reading, but I found that it would be a very hard diet to follow due to the extremely restricted foods allowed. I am not some amazing person who has tons of culinary skill or patience with cooking, shopping or not eating out.
Most of the recipes include yogurt which I am not sure he can handle so we will have to use the ones breakinf are with out it until he has been on the diet a while. No longer needing protection, the mucus producing cells stop producing excessive mucus and carbohydrate digestion is improved.

However, I appreciate that the author points out that if you have zero positive effect after 30 days, then the diet isn’t for you. While this book is not specifically written about autism, there is much evidence that the Specific Carbohydrate Diet will be beneficial to people with autism. I rarely ate vegetables or meat.
