I liked Jeremy and there are some awesome scenes in this book. It’s an antebellum which I don’t usually get into. Way better than watching porn together which I always thought was super weird.

Lisa Gregory Candace Camp was writing some of the best emotional and touching romances of the time. Meredith is a plain, tall bookish young woman in sultry Charleston.

This is a good read. Romi rated it liked it Dec 30, I don’t think Liaa will ever, ever pick up another romance where the heroine is a spinster. Jeremy is a cad, plain and lisq. This book really can never go out of style with its timeless take on a great love affair, it can stand the test of time and last throughout the ages. Then they were secret no longer He was actually purchased to take over the plantation and to wed Meredith.
It wasn’t expected, but bitterlef was powerful, and it changed their lives and united them much deeper than their marriage of convenience did. I have read this book many times over and I never get bored with it, I just can never put it down when I start reading it! Shows definite wear, and perhaps considerable marking on inside. For the time, this was a hot romance. Heroine’s stepfather purchases indentured servant for his plantation.
Meredith was one of the biggest, whiny self-deprecators this social hermit has ever had the displeasure to read.
The first half of this book is just alright. However, that got to be way too infodumpy and I ended up skimming anything bittereaf looked like minutae of house husbandry and adjectives galore about clothing.

There was a love-hate relationship involved in this book and it worked for me. In this detailed story, she brings to life the world of the Southern plantation in 18th century America, bitferleaf the Revolutionary War.

In some ways, it reminded me a little of Dark Torment by Karen Robards, which has long been a favorite of mine, in that the heroine is a plain Jane spinster, and the hero is more or less an indentured servant that biterleaf buys off the auction block.
Since GoodReads just happened to not have the cover “on hand” funnyI’ll describe it for you. Jeremy ultimately proves his worth many times over. I thought the last half of Whitney, My Love was intolerable since all the action rested on a Big Mis, but this was even worse.

Some richly drawn characters add a wonderful depth to the story, though you may find the pace is a bit leisurely. The landowner has a daughter whom is described as “plain, unattractive, and mousy”. However, they make the best of their situation. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
