The central concept of analytical psychology is individuation—the psychological process of integrating the opposites, including the conscious with the unconscious, while still maintaining their relative autonomy.

We all know that Jung was not just a psychologist and a psychiatrist, but also a philosopher and a visionary. While this approach allows Jung to project his own views onto Nietzsche, it also succeeds in restoring essential aspects of Nietzsche’s nietzschw which other, less foolhardy commentators fail to capture.

Jung allows a sequential reading of Nietzsche’s work to dictate the order of ideas presented, so a variety of topics–projection, the anima, Christianity–may appear together in one chapter whose uniting focus is a given passage from Zarathustra.
