Aug 25, Tiffany rated it really liked it Shelves: I just love fairy tale books, and this one is a modern day one. I do find Mina the MC to be a little whiny, and immature as well as insecure, hahb since she is young I can forgive these attributes.
The storybook fairy tales and the family curse have finally caught up with her and her family and Mina realizes if her family is ever going to be free or able to live their lives and further more if she wants to protect her 8 year-old mute brother from inheriting the curse in her place she has to fulfill the family curse and somehow beat what not other Grimm has been able to before.
This question contains spoilers… view spoiler [Ok, so I just have ONE question and its kind of a statement: Excuse me, Nan is still breathing Thankfully book 3 will be out any day now, so I don’t have to wait too long for that, however I know that she’ll be preparing for a 4th which means waiting only god knows how long for the next part of this on-going story that I can’t seem to pull myself away from.
See if you have enough points for this item. Personally, I’m praying for Mina to finally get her happily ever after with him. Jared’s character seemed to have a little more depth that the other one-dimensioned characters – I mean Robert’s entire purpose seemed to be to go all ‘overprotective, you can’t talk to my daughter-in-law’ to Mina once every few chapters.
Mina, descendant of the brothers, sees how things can change over the years and just like when playing telephone with friends, things can get lost over time and details can slip away or become skewed. Nan and Brody being soulmates just seemed to me like a convenient tying up of the characters in order to get Brody out the way for Jared and Mina to develop. Hopefully the next one will be better. Nonetheless I loved it. Mar 09, Trisha rated it liked it.

Fairest: An Unfortunate Fairy Tale, Book 2 (Unabridged)
Appears there will be a third book sometime: Unfortunately, the characters and writing can’t quite live up to that. I love the growth that you see in Mina this book.
This one started off to a rocky start and got better as it went along. Be the first to review this item Amazon Bestsellers Rank: And I hated the little twist at the end. I really wanted l like this sequel. You’ve given us an amazing book series that is well written, east to read and marvelously fun all at a bargain price!
At least now the third book will hopefully have less romantic sap in it. In this book she takes on the 3 Bears from Goldilocks, and then finds herself in the Snow White story.

Mar 17, Laura rated it liked it Shelves: The author honestly should have spent more time developing each character because most are pretty chaanda or stereotypical. Now, I much much prefer the Jared and Mina coupling, it’s just that the Nan and Brody thing seemed a bit abrupt, especially as Brody being Mina’s love interest has been made a huge deal of in the two books.

I am enjoying the series other than the occasional frustration from character stupidity. You don’t feel like you’re reading a sappy, run of the mill teen soap opera. If you enjoyed the first book which I definitely didthe sequel will not disappoint.
