But her snarky remarks remained: The disadvantage, is that I am so immersed into this world, into these characters, that I am pretty much worthless as a contributing member of society otherwise. There were so many lingering questions up to this point in the series and Apollyon gave me a lot of the answers to ideas and theories I had been tossing around in my head.
Alex also interacts with two specific characters from her past in very moving scenes, which were also great lulls in the overall stress of the book. The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. I’m torn between 4 and 5 stars.

In Apollyon I really enjoyed seeing the sweet and playful side of their relationship, amidst the very real danger they are in.

I think it’s because Jennifer Armentrout writes great characters, couples with amazing chemistry, and she allows her readers to indulge in both within her complex and engaging stories. Think of all the peace we can achieve. Alex has always feared two things: Olivia was just the grieving girlfriend and was barely in it. Description Fate isn’t something to mess with and now, neither is Alex.
It was just incredible. Of course I could understand why she was upset but I felt it dragged on. Anything could happen at this point.
Most people have something shit in their lives, that in no way means that it’s a-okay if they go around starting apocalypses and murdering thousands of innocents! One of my favorite things in this book were the jebnifer. I got to meet some of the old characters that I wouldn’t have thought to see again. I mean physically hated him where I wanted to jump in the book and kill him myself!
